Thursday night the Lady Chargers (12-3) played the Vision Charter Eagles at Vallivue Middle School. The game started with Desi Kingery winning the jump, Charger ball. Katie Reynolds soon added a three-pointer, giving the Chargers a lead that would continue for the rest of the game. In the first quarter, Emma Boyette made a midrange jumper and a layup. Julee added five, two of which came from her free-throws after being fouled on her way to the basket. Vision Charter scored seven points, making the score 14-7 at the end of first quarter.
In the second quarter, the Chargers pushed harder, diving for loose balls and going up stronger under the basket. Desi Kingery scored six points, Julee Caven had eight, and Sam Wind added two. The score at the close of first half was 28-7, Chargers in the lead.
Coming back after halftime, the Chargers came out stronger, more energetic and determined. With improved defense, the score grew. Seventeen points were made the third quarter alone, and another nine were added during the fourth quarter. The end score was 54-11, the Chargers win.
Julee Caven led with 18 points, Desi Kingery with 12, and Emma Boyette with 8.
