Our boys and girls swim team won against Borah High School this evening at the Tomlinson South YMCA, with the girls winning 113 to 54, and the boys winning 85 to 68.
Hannah McHenry, Julia Hill, and Luca Pitale came together to win the 200 medley relay, followed by a second place finish from teammates Maddie Hess, Carley Grooms, and Norah Bledsoe. Julia Hill went on to win the 200 IM and the 100 butterfly, with teammate Hannah McHenry finishing 2nd in the 200 IM. Norah Bledsoe won the 100 freestyle, with teammate Tyra Cacka finishing in 2nd place. Both Norah and Tyra then raced to a win as part of the 200 freestyle relay team. Norah Bledsoe, Maddie Hess and Luca Pitale finished 1st , 2nd and 3rd in the 100 backstroke, sweeping the event over Borah. Cassie Fietsch finished 2nd in the JV 100 backstroke. Hannah McHenry won the varsity 100 breaststroke, with teammate Carley Grooms finishing 3rd overall. Maddie Hess and Julia Hill finished the meet with a win as members of the 1st place 400 freestyle relay team.
For the boys, Ian Anderson and Kohlman Bradley helped the JV team secure a win in the 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay. Kohlman also won the JV 100 breaststroke, with Ian finishing 2nd. Varsity swimmer Jack Haserot finished 3rd in the 200 freestyle, just out-touching a Borah swimmer in the last length of the race. Josh Prudhomme finished 3rd in the 500 freestyle (varsity).
Next Up: The team will compete in the Owyhee Invitational this Saturday at 10:00am at Meridian Pool.
