Sophomore JD Jordan competed in the preliminary heats of the District III Championships on Tuesday morning. Jordan swam fast enough in both of his individual events to advance to the final championships this evening.
Jordan's first event, the 100 freestyle, was an outstanding race in which he lead his heat from start to finish. He shattered his entry time of 103.47, finishing in a time of 1:01.49 which places him 6th out of the top 10 returners for finals tonight. In the 100 backstroke, he dropped another 1.67 seconds. His time of 1:14.13 was strong enough for a 6th place seed in the 1A-4A contingent that will compete tonight.
The finals begin at 4:30pm at the West Boise YMCA Aquatics Center (5959 N Discovery Way). Come cheer him on, Chargers!
