With the start of the 2018 season after what seemed to be a long two weeks of practice prior to kickoff, the JV football team came out swinging and did not let up at any point of the game. Even though the numbers are small for our team which forces us to play only one half of football, we were still able to put up 42 points and shut out the opposing team holding them to only one first down the entire game.
Our defense is led by Junior leader, Connor Stewart also known as NAVY! He brings the football player mentality racking up sacks, tackles for loss and the Grit our team was missing last year. Also, on the defensive side of the ball Junior, Jared Fretwell was in the backfield causing havoc all day long becoming a nightmare for the opposing quarterback totaling 3.5 sacks.
Offensively, we hit the ground running right off the back. Sophomore Running Back, Anthony Hill, had a great game running the ball. "Night and Day difference with Hill from last year to this year, he has shown maturity and leadership that has made him a Captain of this team." -Coach Mario
Carter Fortin a Freshman had an amazing debut for High School Football. He showed a sense of great calmness when things didn't go the right way, threw with great accuracy and was able to complete for a few touchdowns!
Our team will travel to Wendell next Thursday 8/31 playing before the Varsity game.
