Cole Valley Christian swimmers helped Meridian High School win their first JV meet of the season, with the women defeating Nampa 63-20, and the men walking away with a winning score of 51-10. Senior Lydia Gee won the first individual event of the evening, winning the 200 yard freestyle with a new personal best time of 2:46.53. Two events later, she won the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 33.67.
First year swimmer, Jack Haserot, finished 4th overall in the 50 freestyle (34.66), and he played a key role in the win for his 200 freestyle relay team, with a split of 33.36 for his 50 freestyle leg. Sophomore Kohlman Bradley helped get the meet off to a great start, swimming the butterfly leg of the winning 200 medley relay team. Bradley also anchored the boys winning 200 freestyle relay team with a split of 33.69. His final event of the evening was the 100 yard breaststroke, winning with a time of 1:32.52.
The Varsity girls and boys team has their first meet of the season on Tuesday, September 7th when they take on Caldwell Unified High Schools at 2:45pm at the West Boise YMCA.
