The Cole Valley Boys’ Varsity Basketball team squared off in a state tournament matchup against the Malad Dragons. The game started off well contested and very close. Then, a buzzer beater putback by David DeMain gave Cole Valley an 11-9 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. Lakota Steele opened the 2nd quarter scoring with a 3 pointer to give Cole Valley a 14-9 lead. Cole Valley continued to pour on the scoring gaining a 23-13 advantage by the end of the first half.
Cole Valley kept their foot on the gas pedal and proceeded to beat Malad 64-46. The Boys’ played hard all game and are looking really good heading into the state semifinal game against North Freemont. The Boys’ play tonight at 8 pm at Capitol High School and look to advance to the State Championship Game.
