Over 5,000 athletes from 140 schools spread across nine different states gathered at Eagle Island State Park this weekend for one of the largest cross country meets in the nation: the 45th Annual Bob Firman Invitational. Cole Valley Christian School's runners prevailed in the face of sickness and the toughest competition there is. Thanks to the ceaseless training and encouragement from their dedicated coaches, the team's success was made possible. Multiple runners were even able to churn out season and personal records, which is impressive considering the infamously unforgiving terrain and sheer density of the competition. This course, with all of the exhaustion and injuries it may have caused, has prepared us even more for the upcoming WIC Championship in Melba this week.
